Before you move fifty sites

125 GB across 50 sites, and what that is really worth

The numbers on this page are the ones the server enforces, so it is worth knowing what they mean in client sites rather than in gigabytes.

So here is the actual number

125 GB. A real client WordPress site with its media is usually 1 to 3 GB, so 50 of them fits comfortably and a book of heavy, media-led sites will not. We would rather you knew that before you moved eighty of them.

The server is still not oversold

Your site count is a number in your account. It is not the reason the node stays fast — that is the hard cap on how many sites go on it at all, which we hold to regardless of which plans those sites came from.

Tell us before the big migration

Bringing thirty sites at once is normal and we are happy to do it. Say so first and we will make sure there is a node with the room, rather than discovering it halfway through.

One client's mess stays theirs

Separate system user, separate database, separate PHP workers, open_basedir between them, and attack blocking you can set per site. The site that gets compromised is the one that gets cleaned up — not all 50.

Agency hosting questions

Can I resell this to my clients under my own name?

You can host their sites and bill them however you like — that is what these plans are for. What we do not offer yet is white-label branding of the panel itself, so a client who logs in will see HostCrafter. Most agencies never give clients panel access at all and just use the one-click login into wp-admin.

Does a staging site use one of my 50 slots?

Yes, while it exists. A staging copy is a second full WordPress install with its own files and its own database, so it costs a slot until you publish or delete it.

What happens if I hit 125 GB?

We tell you, and we talk about it. Nothing is switched off and nothing is deleted. Usually the answer is clearing out old backups and the two client sites that were abandoned in 2023.

Can each client have their own login?

Not as separate panel accounts today — one HostCrafter account holds all the sites. You can give each client their own wp-admin user on their own site as normal, and their own SFTP is per site.

How long does moving 30 sites take?

Days rather than hours, and we will give you an order and keep you posted. Each site goes up here, gets checked on a temporary address, and only changes DNS when you say so — so you can move them in whatever batches suit your clients.

What if one client's site is attacked?

It is contained to that site by design — its own user, its own database, no read access to anything else. On top of that each site has its own attack blocking, and the node blocks any address making more than 30 failed PHP requests a minute whatever your settings say. We quarantine what we find, tell you, and clean it up free. The other sites keep serving throughout.
