You do not have to move your domain to host with us
A lot of hosts make this sound compulsory. It is not, and we would rather say so.
Register a new one
Add it while you are buying hosting and it is set up, pointed and covered by SSL before you have finished signing up. One invoice for both.
Transfer one in
Move an existing domain here so everything is in one account. It keeps its remaining registration and gains a year.
Leave it where it is
Keep it at GoDaddy, Namecheap, wherever. Change two records and it points here. Nothing about your hosting works less well, and we will give you the exact values.
What you get either way

The honest bit about domain pricing
Domains are close to a commodity. Most of what you pay goes to the registry — Verisign for a .com, and so on — and the host adds a margin on top.
Some hosts sell the first year at a loss to get you in and then renew at three times the price. We do not do that here for the same reason we do not do it on hosting: it makes the second year a nasty surprise, and we would rather have you in the third.
If you already have a domain somewhere cheaper, keep it there. Pointing it at us takes two DNS records and costs nothing.

Do I need to buy a domain from you?
No. You can point any domain at us from any registrar. Buying it here just means one account and one invoice.
How long does a transfer take?
Usually five to seven days, and that is the registry's timing rather than ours. Your website and email keep working throughout — a transfer moves who bills you, not where the site is hosted.
What records do I change to point a domain here?
Either the two nameservers we give you, or an A record for the domain and one for www. We give you the exact values in the panel, and we will check them with you on chat if you would rather not do it alone.
Can I use Cloudflare in front?
Yes. Point Cloudflare at us and set SSL to Full (strict) — we issue a real certificate on our side, so there is no reason to run it in the weaker modes.
